Q. Does EQVALAN® Paste control bloodworms?

A. Yes, EQVALAN Paste controls both the adults and the migrating larval stages of bloodworms.

Q.What about bots?

A. Yes, EQVALAN Paste controls both the oral and gastric stages of bots.

Q.Is EQVALAN® Paste safe to use on pregnant mares?

A. Mares can be treated at any stage of pregnancy. EQVALAN Paste has shown a wide safety margin, it can be used in horses of all ages.

Q.How often do I need to treat my horses?

A. Routinely foals should be treated initially at 6-8 weeks of age and then at 8-weekly intervals. A regular parasite control programme for foals, yearlings and mares can be recommended depending on the pasture available and horse stocking rate.

Q.I am concerned about resistance how often should I alternate between products?

A. Some worms have become resistant to BZ anthelmintic products. EQVALAN Paste can control BZ resistant worms. Routine alternation between different action families of anthelmintics is not now regarded as an essential recommendation.

Q. Can I give the whole of EQVALAN® Paste tube to my pony?

A. Ponies usually weigh 300-400kg so they don't require the whole tube but the wide margin of safety of EQVALAN Paste means that if they do receive a whole tube it will not be harmful to them.
